DLP’s busy Production team have recently had the pleasure of hosting work experience students Emilia and Zak, to give them a peek of what goes on behind closed doors and gain an insight into how the factory operates.

Throughout their placement at DLP, Emilia and Zak got hands-on experience in the manufacturing of shower doors and kitchen cupboards, were guided through the process by industry experts, and even got the opportunity to create their own versions of the products using the skills they had learned.

Scott Findlay, Production Director at DLP had this to say:

“I’d like to thank my Production Management and Supervisory team for all their hard work and efforts with both Emilia and Zak during the school work placement at DLP. Feedback from the teams expanded on how both students fully committed to their time in each department, lots of questions were asked, lots of information was taken on board, we couldn’t have asked for two better students. Well done all! A fantastic effort!”

Helen Hillier, Careers Advisor at the Department of Education, Sport & Culture, complimented the tasks organised for the students.

“Emilia and Zak benefitted greatly from their work experience at DLP. The placements were set up and delivered to a high standard, and allowed both students to consider and develop some key employability skills while allowing them to discover more information about DLP as a company, and the different departments and roles we have here at the Isle of Man location.

Scott and his team were instrumental in ensuring a well thought out and supported placement for both students, that met their individual interests. Emilia and Zak were both enthused and grateful for their experience at DLP, and as their Careers Advisor, I was very impressed with the well-structured, skills based and informative placement offer, which is a great example to other employers looking to offer sector focused work experience.”
